Welcome to the2023 Netherlands Semiconductors Week

The Netherlands and Taiwan share a long history of trade, dating back to the 17th century.
Today, the Netherlands is Taiwan’s second largest trading partner in Europe, and the Netherlands and Taiwan have also built strong connections in the field of semiconductors. Recently Germany, the Netherlands (NXP) and Taiwan (TSMC) announced a new company in Dresden (Europe) to provide advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
The Netherlands has established a competitive position in the supply chain of the industry and is the country of origin for more than 300 semicon related companies. In 2021 the Dutch semiconductor industry grew by around 31.1% , to €39.1 billion in estimated worldwide revenues (sales of semiconductors). It’s home to the world’s biggest machine builder for semicon manufacturing (ASML), and many small to medium-sized companies employing dozens of people.
Approximately. 85% of chips are manufactured from "Made in NL" equipment or related components. And 33% of the global market is comprised of Dutch industrial leaders, with expertise spread across various sectors including: Front and Back-end machines, RF and radar technology, Metrology, Test Technology & Engineering. Chip design knowledge with innovating solutions for wireless data transmission and sensor data acquisition, to patented security technology, core expertise on mixed-signal and Photonics Integrated Circuits and solutions for advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration.
From September 4 until September 8, the Netherlands Office Taipei will be presenting the first-ever Netherlands Semiconductors Week with “Team Semicon NL”, a group composed of almost 50 delegates across three delegations: government, business, and innovation.
